Sketchblog post: Rained out

Yet another rain inspired page. Got rained out on my way to dinner. You can see my thoughts on the matter drawn in the top right. I really like the guy on the left though. Low key, soft, but still excitable (see bottom expression). I wonder what would get him so happy though?

Pub Sketch

I got rained out on my bike ride home a few weeks back so I popped into a pub to wait it out. Got this nice page done. It was fun to bang out a full page in one sitting, though you can see that pint kicking in right around the elephant…

Color Worm Art/Pics

Concept art and pics from the final build of the Color Worm from Johnny and the Sprites season 2. His job was to suck all of the color out of whatever he touched, so I kept the color and the expression as neutral as possible. Until after eating his fill he changes into a butterfly of sorts. The fact that even after the change he is still nonplussed still makes me smile a bit. All told we have to make four separate puppets to cover the needs of the shoot.

MC Chris fan art

MC Chris or the "Dungeon Master of Ceremonies" is one of my favorites. Hip Hop about Star Wars and nerd girls is for better or worse is right in my wheelhouse. He's also a big puppet fan.

I drew this for him a while back which led to a discussion about adding a puppet to his live show; a big furry DJ that would eat the records after scratching them. It never came to be, sadly. But still this was fun to draw. I loved adding in the S-curve to Bert. He's such a straight laced character it was fun to make him the goofy guy for once.

It's a great show and the press for it has been fantastic. If you are going to be there check it out.
